The Magnificent Seven: 7 Spring Fashion Staples

When a new season rolls around, fashionistas everywhere jump at every trend they see walking the runway or draped on a mannequin. Guilty as charged. The problem: we all end up breaking the bank with items we’ll only wear once.

To avoid this little problem, here’s a list of my seven must-haves for spring that can easily mix, match and integrate into your closet to save you a little cash and leave you looking fab!

1. Denim, Denim, Denim
Whether it’s pastel-colored and skinny or distressed and cropped, denim is where it’s at this spring! And don’t stop at bottoms, jean jackets are a perfect layering item for this season.

2. Pleated Maxi Skirt
Having a hard time believing a floor-length, baggy skirt can be stylish? Believe it! These skirts look great paired with anything from a crop top to an oversized sweater. If you want to add some edge, look for a sheer maxi skirt that you can layer over a short, bandage skirt or a pair of tight shorts.

3. Pointed Toe Pumps
I never really stopped wearing them, but this spring has motivated me to buy another pair. These shoes make a statement all on their own, but even more so when paired with some cropped pants. Pointy pumps are also the perfect way to add a little look-at-me factor to a casual weekend ensemble.

4. Chunky Chokers
This spring, we say goodbye to necklaces that dangle down to our bellybutton, and hello to those that stay around the collarbone (and give our neck a work out!) It’s tough to find an outfit this trend doesn’t work with, and having a go-to statement necklace is always a must. The chunkier, the better.

5. Color-Blocked Dress
This geometric trend is available in so many styles and colors this season, every gal out there should have one in her closet! It’s retro, mod and great for getting ready quickly.

6. Fuchsia Lipstick
Lots of ladies are hesitant to try a bright lip color because they’re afraid it will look silly or childish, but it’s time to brush those fears aside. Pout, purse, and pucker up with some POP on your lips.

7. Neon-Colored Blouse
Whether it’s hot pink or electric yellow, a neon top will make any outfit more exciting. I love a little neon top tucked into a pair of skinny jeans with some oversized sunglasses, or dressed-up with a blouse, skirt and tights. It’s such a fun spring piece that adds confidence to any ensemble.

Happy shopping!
